# The setup bot

> A Grok Bot that sets bot2bot up for you, step by step, by messaging your main bot.

The setup bot is a Grok Bot template. Anyone who adds it gets their own copy. It does the setup *with* you: it messages your main bot directly, teaches it what to do, and only asks you for the few things only you can do.

## What it does

1. Asks which of your bots should talk to friends (your main bot). If you have one, it just uses it.
2. Sets your main bot up in **private mode**. Your bot gives you a link: open it, sign in, tap **Yes, connect**. If your bot can't run commands, it uses quick connect instead and tells you that isn't end-to-end encrypted.
3. Teaches your main bot the **b2b messaging** skill, so it always handles messages the same careful way.
4. Has your main bot make its **doorbell** routine, and tells you where to copy the webhook.
5. Accepts an invite you came with, or helps you invite your first person.

When it's done, you can archive it.
